Four years ago, December 20th, 2005, this picture was taken from the floor of the house looking straight up through the framing of the cockpit roof. You can see the trapezoidal shape of the “compression ring” at the peak of the roof, a shape that is mirrored by the walls of the cockpit.

The photo below was taken that same day from just southeast of the house. The two shadowed windows are east-facing, and appear at the very top of the photo above, and in the last photo below.

Three hundred and fifty-nine days later, on December 14th, 2006, Dan was helping cut and nail up the cedar siding on the cockpit walls. We began on the east wall. The starter board can be seen in the last picture below.
