Monday, Apr 6 to Sunday, Apr 12, 2009: high 56, low 13

This week witnessed the first of this year’s Wingsprings Sunset Days. These are the two days of the year when the sun sets directly on the Butte. The photo above was taken on April 10th. On that day, the sun set just to the south of the Butte. Due to yet another weekend snow storm, it was a few days before i could take another sunset picture. In the photo below, taken on April 13th, the sun is clearly to the north of the Butte. It appears that April 11th would be the best guess for this year’s first Sunset Day.
