Monday, Jan 11 to Sunday, Jan 17, 2010: high 54, low 24

A number of deer were down by the springs this morning, taking shelter from the wind on the leeward side of the steep-sided hill on the left side of the photo above. Coincidentally, that side also faces east, so the deer enjoyed protection from the wind and also exposure to the warming morning sun. Some were up and moving about while others were laying along the trail that passes just on the uphill side of the central tree.
