Today, Sunday the 11th of April, supposedly is one of the two Wingsprings sunset days. But as the photo illustrates, clouds in the western sky obscured the sunset. So we cannot ascertain if indeed the sun did set over the Butte and therefore on the Wingsprings west-east axis. However, the sun is visible through the clouds, and if indeed today is when it sets over the Butte, then it is interesting to see the angle at which it sets. Clearly, the setting sun approaches the horizon at an angle far from vertical.
