Thursday morning was foggy and a frosty coat clung to blades of grass like tiny white spikes. The coyote tracks (left above) were fresher than the rabbit ones (right above). And whereas the rabbits were heading away toward the wicoti, the coyote came onto the path from the west (or right) in the middle ground, veered northeasterly toward our position and then beyond turned to the east. The sets of tracks converged, briefly ran parallel but in opposite directions, then split again. They provide no evidence of any interaction between their makers.
