Tuesday evening a series of thunderstorms moved from the west to the south and on to the east. Constant lightening, much of it “sheet” lightening in which portions of the clouds light up but no lightening bolts are visible. The storm was far enough away that there was a steady ebb and flow of rolling thunder; no sharp jarring cracks. Every once in a while, though, a bolt of lightening suddenly zig-zagged across the sky or to the ground, momentarily illuminating the landscape as if it was daytime. And its jolting thunder at times seemed to rattle the windows. The image above is looking southwest from the house, through a window.
