This windmill is in the south Bear Creek pasture, which is west of Wingsprings. The picture is taken looking north. The windmill pumps water into the smaller tank which, when full, overflows into the larger tank. Storage of water is a critical issue for windmills, particularly in the hot months. If there is little or no wind for a couple days, the livestock might drink all of the water in the tanks. A small tank will have fresher water, but a large tank has greater capacity.
