Fee and Lori (R-L) planted sedum around the ornamental Spruce tree on Wednesday morning. The sedum is from Fee’s yard in Pierre. Mom is supervising the endeavor. While doing so, she noticed that a small bird kept returning to the tree even while Fee and Lori were working. So we checked the tree and found a cozy nest nestled into its branches. After consulting a guidebook, it was determined that the bird was a Lark Sparrow.  Also near the Spruce is a soapweed that always reminds us of Grandma Smith who called them Sandhills Candles.
