Late last fall we planted a native prairie mix of grasses and covered the area with a synthetic mesh woven with straw. Hoped for the best but wasnt counting on the seeds germinating and growing. But here you can see that the grass is growing right through the mess, providing the rabbits with a buffet of freshness. The only drawback for the rabbits is that their toes seem to catch on the mesh.
