Picture taken from inside the library’s reading room. Under construction is a radial wing wall. Its a radial wall because it is on one of the 40 radials that originate at the center point of the hocokab. The radials are 9 degrees apart and the cut in the concrete floor is the radial and wall is centered on it. Conceptually, all radial walls are clad with lap siding (exterior) or tongue & groove siding (interior). This wing wall is short; it enables access between it and the bookshelves. It also doesn’t extend upward to the bottom of the radial truss above it. Its main function is to visually separate the reading room (where the picture is taken from) from the workspace on its other side.
