The picture is looking across the patio toward  the springs. It was taken a little before eight o’clock this evening. If you look closely at the edge of the concrete you can see a painted turtle, its head up, walking to the left or east. One reason it might be up here is to lay her eggs. In previous years we have seen turtles doing the same behavior, but am sure if its the same turtle. She will bury her eggs and return to the springs. And when the eggs hatch, the little turtles will somehow know which direction to walk to reach the springs.
