Tuesday early evening we hosted a ninety-minute astronomy workshop for a dozen guests. It was the first of two workshops that we will host before the middle of September. This one focused on the moon and featured hands-on observations (which some of the guests are doing in the photo above) and an illustrated presentation of astronomical and Lakotan viewpoints of the moon. The moon was just two days from being full so rose about an hour before sunset. The guest did naked eye or unassisted observations which they recorded on forms that CAIRNS was protyping.
