Early Tuesday morning, at 4:37am, the moon was full—but it also was eclipsed by the shadow of earth (a total lunar eclipse). The next night, Wednesday night, as the nearly full moon rose over the roof of the gallery, i tried to capture of it with the phone camera. But it just didnt work. So turning away from the moon and noticing that the moonlight illuminated all the east-facing surfaces, especially the cockpit wall with its two windows, i thought, why not see if a picture of this would turn out. And it did! The stars in the sky are the clues that this is a nighttime photo. Directly above the point of the cockpit roof you can see the diagonal sword of Orion and above it the three horizontal stars of Orion’s belt. If you extend a line through the three belt stars and to the left then down a little to the bright star, that is Sirius.
